Catherine MacDonald

MacDONALD (EDWARDS), CATHERINE
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Catherine Jean (Edwards) MacDonald of Fredericton, N.B. on November 8, 2015 at the age of 81. Catherine was born in Fredericton NB on January 23, 1934 and was the daughter of the late Ronald Edwards and Joyce (Brown) Edwards.
She was predeceased by her husband Alan MacDonald of Fredericton and her oldest daughter Patti Mazeika of Port Orange, Florida.
Catherine is survived by her children Pam Murphy of Fredericton, Judy MacKay of Winnipeg and Bill (Trina) MacDonald of Fredericton. Her grandchildren will dearly miss Nannie: Patrick Mazeika of Port Orange, Florida, Ryan Murphy of Ottawa, Scott Murphy of Miramichi, Jaclyn MacKay of Winnipeg, Andrew MacKay of Winnipeg and Jordan MacDonald of Fredericton. Catherine also had two great-grandchildren Georgia and Lucy Miller of Winnipeg. She is also survived by a brother Jack Edwards of Fredericton and Betty Richard of Ottawa.
Affectionately known as “Tannie”, she enjoyed bingo, her puzzle books and family gatherings. Mom enjoyed nothing more than watching her grandchildren at the ballfield or at the rink. Nannie had a very special relationship with her youngest grandchild Jordan who she followed everywhere for the past 10 years. It meant a lot to Nannie how kind and patient Jordan was over the past two years while her health was failing.
Tannie always made sure her family came first. She was very proud that she raised four children who all went onto receive university diplomas and also have loving families of their own.
There will be no visitation or funeral as per Catherine’s wishes.
For those who wish, donations can be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
Bishop’s Funeral Home has been entrusted with her arrangements and condolences can be made on their website.
