Doug graduated from UNB Fredericton in 1975 with a degree in Physical Education. Although he started out as a teacher he had always dreamed of being a pilot. He completed his training and was checked out on the RJ aircraft in 2005 and completed 28 years of service with Air Nova/Jazz and a grand total of 36 years in the flying industry.
A caring husband and father, Doug had many loves. Love of family- following his children in their chosen activities and so proud of their accomplishments. Love of travel and sports. Love of the Boston Bruins. Love of cooking and searching YouTube for recipes.
Doug was very passionate about everything he did. He was always professional in the flight deck and respectful of fellow officers and crew. Over the years he earned many citations and tributes from passengers, administration and crew for his dedication and caring way.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville N.B. (364-8188). In keeping with Doug’s wishes, cremation has taken place.
