John 'Bryden' MacKinnon

Born In: Grand Mira South

Passed on: November 7th, 2015

It is with deep sadness that we, the family, announce the sudden passing of Bryden MacKinnon, 74 who passed away on Saturday, Nov. 7, 2015.
Born in Grand Mira South, he was the son of the late Neil and Marion MacKinnon. Bryden was a long time resident of Grand Mira South, he most recently lived in Sydney with his loving wife Christine and lovable companion Meika. Bryden retired from the Cape Breton Regional Victoria School Board as a school bus driver. Previously he worked for the Red and White grocery store in Glace Bay. Bryden’s real passion was cooking. He worked for many years catering with his mother, brothers and sister. Most recently he worked closely with his brother Charlie catering all over Cape Breton. Many of us have had the pleasure of eating Dad’s famous meat pies which he was very proud of. Dad’s sense of humour and love for a great bargain will give all of us many stories to tell for years to come.
He is survived by his wife, Christine and three daughters, Debbie Barnes (Jeff), Lori March (Chris) and Ashley Hareguy (Nick); the mother of his children, Alice MacKinnon and two grandsons, John and Josh. He is also survived by stepchildren, Lisa, Joanne and Gary and five step-grandchildren.
