Léo J. DesRoches, 89, husband of the late Euclida “Kit” Landry, of Moncton, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday November 11, 2015 at the Villa du Repos following a lengthy illness. Born November 13, 1926 in Moncton, he was the son of the late Olivier and Eveline (LeBlanc) DesRoches.
After his retirement from CN, he enjoyed listening to music, gardening, and cooking. He was also a life member of the Knights of Columbus council 1310.
Léo was a devoted husband to the Kit for over 66 years; a loving father to his three children: Rachelle Bourget (Bob), Paul (Joanne) and Pierre (Brenda), all of Moncton; cherished grandfather to his three grandchildren: Chantal (Dominique), Mathieu (Bianca) and Nadine (Dominique); and his three great-grandchildren: Myriam, Alex and Maxime. He was the last survivor of his immediate family.
Besides his wife, Léo is also predeceased by his a son, Georges; four sisters: Maria, Lena Libbie, and Dora.
The family will receive condolences at the Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) from where the funeral service will be celebrated Friday, November 13 at 10:30 am. Visiting hours Thursday evening from 7 to 9 pm and Friday morning from 9:30 am until time of funeral. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Dieppe.
In memory of Léo, a contribution to the Alzheimer’s Society or to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.
