Art Gessner
October 6, 1932 – November 14, 2015

Robert Arthur "Art" Gessner passed away peacefully at the age of 83 years on Saturday, November 14, 2015 after a courageous battle with cancer. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Ruby of 62 years and his children, Debbie (Frank) Covelli, John (Janelle) Gessner, Carol (Mike) Mueller, Linda (Pat) Kavanagh; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son Russell; his parents John and Kay Gessner; Ruby's parents Ole and Cora Adams; his brother Allen Gessner and his wife's siblings Arlene and Jack Aupperle and Arne Adams. Art spent his early years on a farm in Strasbourg, SK and it was there that he developed his quick wit and zest for life. He met the love of his life, Ruby, while in high school. He worked at Sears Canada for 30 years where he held many exciting and interesting positions. His last posting was as Store Manager for the Prince Albert location. He was able to take an early retirement and spent the last 27 years enjoying the things he loved most - puttering in the garden with Ruby, travelling to be with his children and grandchildren, golfing, curling, fishing and hunting. A celebration of Art's life will be held on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at 1:00 pm at Gray's Funeral Chapel, 575 - 28th Street West, Prince Albert, SK with Pastor Dennis Serfas, Director Spiritual Care, Prince Albert Parkland Health Region officiating. Interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 54 - 11th Street East, Prince Albert, SK S6V 0Z9 or to a Charity of Donor's Choice.
