Lola Augustina (Landry) Burke, age 77 passed away at the Richmond Villa on Nov. 21, 2015, with her loving family at her side.
Born in Sampsonville on Aug. 17, 1938, Lola was a daughter of the late Harry and Martena (Burke) Landry. Lola loved family, music and the Montreal Canadiens. She was a longtime member of the St. Peter’s Catholic Church choir and accompanist for the Christmas concerts at Lakeside Elementary School.
Everyone looked forward to her marvelous homemade bread, apple and lemon meringue pies. Lola’s were the best!
Lola was predeceased by her husband, Cornelius S. Burke; infant daughter, Vicky Lynn and daughter-in-law, Julie (Amos) Burke.
Beloved mother to son, Christopher; grandson, Jack, Cole Harbour and daughter, Raylene (Art) McCready, Ottawa. Also surviving are brothers, Cletus, Conrad, Wally, Bernie and sisters, Doris Landry, Marilyn Proctor and many nieces, nephews and cousins (most especially Shirley Carter).
Resting in the chapel of Richmond Villa in St. Peter’s with visitation on Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2015 from 2-9 p.m. with funeral service at St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church, Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2015 at 9 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Richmond Villa Recreation Department or a charity of your choice.
Thank you to staff at Richmond Villa for their loving care of our Mom since 2004. A very special thank you to Lola’s sisters, Doris and Marilyn for their love and attention through the years.
