1911 - 2015
Ada Lillian MacLeod, born October 18, 1911, of K.E. Spencer Memorial Home, and formerly of Riverview, passed away peacefully at her residence on Sunday, November 22, 2015. She was the daughter of the late George and Rosella (McBurnie) Faulkner.
Born in Five Islands, NS, she moved to Lower Economy, NS, where she grew up and then she moved to Truro, NS, where she worked at Bentley’s. She met Charles MacLeod and moved to Moncton, where they were married and lived in Riverview for the rest of their lives. Ada worked at the T. Eaton Co., where she made many friends. Retirement was filled with golf at The Moncton Golf & Country Club, curling at The Beaver Curling Club, trips to Florida, playing bridge and spending happy times visiting her family.
Ada was loved by everyone fortunate enough to have met her. She will be greatly missed by her family, young and old, who loved her dearly.
Ada will be sadly missed by her nephews, Jerry Kennedy (Marg) of Moncton, Ross Doyle (Sylvia) of Truro, NS and Everett Faulkner (Phyllis) of Lower Economy, NS; niece, Charlotte Johnson of Truro, NS; several grandnieces, grandnephews, great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews.
Ada was the last surviving member of her immediate family. In addition to her parents, Ada was predeceased by her husband, Charles MacLeod (1999); sisters, Leta and Bertha; brothers, Trueman, Wyman and Chester.
A public Graveside Service to celebrate Ada’s life will be held at Fair Haven Memorial Gardens on Friday, November 27, 2015 at 1:00 pm, with the Rev. Aaron Billard officiating. Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) in care of arrangements.
