PAINTER, RITA MARY AGNES
It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our dear mother at Wauklehegan Manor, McAdam, NB on Monday, November 23, 2015. She was born in Smithfield, NB to the late James McDade and Mary Ellen "Nellie" (Hurley) on 25 April 1918. On 26 November 1941 she married the late William "Bill" Painter.
Mum's career began in 1937 teaching throughout NB and ended with her retirement in 1984 as the principal of McAdam East Elementary School. Mum was a devout Catholic who was very active in St. Clements Catholic Church. Supportive as a volunteer, our community was the benefactor of our Mother's generosity of spirit. She was a nurturer and caregiver who was humble and selfless in life. Her death is mourned while her life is celebrated.
Our Mother did all things with great love, lived her faith, and received her strength from God. Mum will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her children Carol Anne Anderson (Daryl), Dartmouth NS, Joseph (Sandra), Revelstoke, BC, Gregory (Leigh) Rusagonish, NB, Theresa, McAdam, NB, Christopher (Barb), Hampton, NB, her beloved 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; her sister Dorothy McDade (John Bliss), and brothers, Harold "Bud" McDade (Alma) and Tom McDade (Lulu), her sister-in-law Pauline McDade (Connors) as well as several nieces and nephews.
Rita was predeceased by her siblings Kathleen McCray (Wilson), Alice Feeney (Arnold), Anne Poirier (Art), Gregory, Alfred, Walter and Donald McDade.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Clements Roman Catholic Church, McAdam, NB. on Friday, November 27 at 11 am. Visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday from 6 to 8 pm and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm.
For those who wish, remembrances may be made to Wauklehegan Manor or a charity of the donors choice would be appreciated by the family. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.mehanfuneralhome.ca
The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to Dr Paul Smith and the staff and volunteers of the Wauklehegan Manor for their compassionate care.
