Constance Jamieson

JAMIESON, CONSTANCE
1923 – 2015
With deep regret, the family announces the death of Constance (Connie Scott) Jamieson, at the age of 92, of Rough Waters Drive, Bathurst, who passed away December 1, 2015. Born in New Bandon, Connie was the second daughter of George and Georgina (Eddy) Scott. She was predeceased by her husband of 65 years, the late Tommy Jamieson.
She will be sadly missed by her daughter, Joan Williamson (Harry), and three sons: Andy, Allan (Anne Marie) and Peter; five grandchildren Carolyn Williamson, Bud Williamson (Clarice), Tommy Jamieson (Cheryl), Trevor Jamieson (Kirsten) and Amber Jamieson; two sisters: Edna Spragg (late Donald), and Eleanor Scott. She leaves behind two great-granddaughters, Korie Jamieson and Betty Williamson.
She was predeceased by three brothers: Thomas, Halzon, and Harvey and two sisters: Mary and Priscilla, and several nieces and nephews.
Although Connie worked for the Bank of Montreal as a young woman and helped her husband, Tommy with their grocery business, her main focus was her family and her home. She participated in many hobbies such as sewing, knitting and quilting. She was a member of the Ladies’ Auxiliary of the Herman J. Good, VC, Branch No. 18, Royal Canadian Legion. In the past, she had been a member of the United Church Women, the Order of the Eastern Star, and curled recreationally for several years. She and Tommy were enthusiastic dancers, sharing many evenings with friends on the dance floor. She had an encyclopedic knowledge of family, friends, neighbors, customers, and their family connections. She was the “go to” person when information was needed about anyone or their family. She also loved travelling with family and friends.
Connie was tiny but mighty, loved a good laugh and had a merry twinkle in her eye.
The body will rest at Elhatton’s Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst, on Friday, December 4, 2015 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 5, 2015 at 2 p.m. from the First United Church. St. Patrick Street.
Donations in memory of Connie may be made to First United Church or a favourite charity.
