Cancer has taken a wonderful Acadian man to be in heaven to join the realms of family and friends awaiting him on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, with Betty by his side, of Léo Joseph Caissie. Léo was born on April 29, 1938, son of the late Théodore and Elizabeth (nee Arsenault) Caissie. He is the beloved companion of Betty Priddle and father to Dean, Bill and Michelle. Léo was grandfather of six grandchildren, great-grandfather of four great-grandchildren as well as a special friend of Betty’s family, her four children, six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Léo will be forever remembered by his brothers and sisters: Marie Anne, Le Chez-Nous; Joseph (Alphonsine) Maximeville, Évangéline; Le Bel Age, Yvonne, Abram’s Village; Ella, Maximeville; Antoine (Paulette), Summerside; Alfred (Irene), Wellington; Rose, Summerside; Camille (Geraldine) Montague; and sister-in-law Aline, Le Chez-Nous. He is also survived by Betty’s siblings, spouse and numerous nieces and nephews of both Betty and Léo. He is predeceased by his parents, son Freddie, brothers Jean Pierre and Alyre (June), sister Alodie, special friend Ella LeClair, brothers in-law Frankie, Léonce, Freddy, Phil and Léo. Resting at the Évangéline Coop Funeral Home, Urbainville, until Monday, Dec. 7, family and friends are welcome to celebrate Léo’s life from 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. followed by a funeral service at 3 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment to take place in the church cemetery in St. Philippe and St. Jacques Church, Egmont Bay. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Léo’s memory to the Club 50 in Egmont Bay, the P.E.I.
