André Lemieux, 73, passed away in his sleep, at home, on Sunday, December 6, in Charlottetown, PEI.
He is survived by his wife Johanne, sons Patrick (Su-Ying), Hugo (Kathryn), Benoit (Tania), and grandchildren Alyssa, Eric, Amélie, Isabelle, Phillip, Vincent. He was a good father, husband, grandfather, and friend to many.
André’s passion was reading. He read all his life. His uncanny ability with words led him to two successful careers; one as Chief Pension Advocate for Veterans Affairs Canada, which initially brought him and his family to PEI in 1984, and then as a English to French translator for the government of PEI.
We would like to offer a special thanks to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and the Provincial Home Care Service, who have provided him with extraordinarily compassionate service in the latter years of his life.
