HAMILTON, MARJORIE KATHERINE
The death of Marjorie Katherine Hamilton, of Moncton, occurred Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at The Moncton Hospital at the age of 82. Born in Price Settlement, NB, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Harriet (Price) Taylor, and the widow of Douglas Hamilton, of Moncton, who predeceased her in 2008.
Marge was employed by Dominion Stores for many years and later as a merchandiser for a housewares distributor. In recent years, she worked in the shops at The Wharf Village at Magnetic Hill. For all her married life, she was an active member at Hillside Baptist Church and had a strong personal faith. She was an avid bowler and a dedicated fan of country music. She had many close friends and a family that loved and admired her.
Marge is survived by daughter, Beverly Matthews (Larry) of Toronto; son, Carl (Annette) of Moncton; three grandchildren, Justine Hamilton (Kyle) of Moncton, Rachel Matthews of Toronto and Aaron Matthews (Marian) of London, UK; one sister, Rita Godfrey of Chatham; three sisters-in-law, Viola Lutes (Austin) and Jean Matchett of Moncton, and Shirley Taylor of Hamilton; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents and her husband, by four brothers, Walter, Ernest, Mark and Frank and by three sisters, Annie Cullum, Wilda Morrison and Ella Dutcher.
Visitation will be held at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 pm. A Service to celebrate Marge’s life will be held at Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, December 14, 2015 at 11:00 am with Pastor Jerry Reddy officiating. Reception following the service. Interment will be held at Fair Haven Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, in memory of Marge donations can be made to The Friends of The Moncton Hospital in recognition of the care given to her in the Palliative Care Unit or to Hillside Baptist Church, or to the charity of one’s own choosing.
