It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of George Arthur LeBlanc on the morning of December 15, 2015. He will be lovingly remembered by his three children, George (Franca), Kelly (Kenneth) and Karen (Marty); as well as his grandchildren Eric (Carolyne), Jeff, Daniel (Nicole), Lisa, Solomon, Jack and Cameron; and his great-grandchildren Davis and Garrett. He is also survived and lovingly remembered by his sisters Josephine, Jeannie and Shirley; sister-in-law Thelma and their families. George was predeceased by his wife Bernice, his parents and brother Dave.
George spent 25 years in the Royal Canadian Air Force and served in the Korean War. He went on to work for the Alberta Provincial Government as a stock keeper at the Terrace Building in Edmonton until his retirement in 1991. George was an avid animal lover and was well known in his community for the daily walks of his dogs Tipper and Max over the years. He was a very kindhearted man and will be greatly missed.
A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. The family wishes to thank Dr. R. Gilbert and the staff at 9Y Edmonton General Hospital for their compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in his memory to the Edmonton Humane Society, 13620 - 163 Street, Edmonton, Alberta T5V 0B2 or to a charity of one’s choice.
