Suddenly at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Friday, Dec. 18, 2015, of Bernadine Ida O'Connor, of 342 Lefurgey Ave., Summerside, and formerly of Cape Wolfe, age 89 years. Beloved wife of the late Clement O'Connor. Born at Burton, Lot.7, P.E.I., on Aug. 29, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Edward S. and Mary (nee Doyle) Griffin. Loving mother to Ernest (Laurette), of Hampton, P.E.I., Bernie (Muriel Muncaster), of Stroud, Ont.; and Betty (Doug) Bennion, of Toronto, Ont. She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren, Sonia O'Connor, Ryan O'Connor, Carrinne McGeoghegan, Ashley Tate and Jamie Bennion. Great-grandmother to Owen, Ethan, Sawyer, Payton, Norah, Emmett, Naomie, Agatha and Archer. Dear sister to Rita (late Gerald) Rooney, of Alberton, Ada (late Steve) Doyle, of Charlottetown, and Olga Griffin, of Summerside. Sister-in-law to Catherine Griffin, of Summerside and Stella Stewart, of Alberton. She is also survived by her many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Shane O'Connor, brother Doyle Griffin, and by sisters, Anna (late Wesley) Johnston, of Toronto, and Doris (late Everett) McKenna of Borden. Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home, Alberton. Visiting hours Monday evening from 6 to 9 p.m. Funeral Tuesday morning from St. Marks Church, Burton, Lot.7, for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m., Rev. Andrew MacDonald, celebrant. Interment in St. Mark’s Cemetery.
