COYNE, REV. PATRICK JOSEPH –
The funeral of Rev. Patrick Joseph Coyne was held Tuesday, December 15, 2015 from The Cathedral of Immaculate Conception where a Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated by the Most Reverend Bishop Robert Harris. Also attended by Msgr. Brian Henneberry, Msgr. Brian Sheehan, Rev. Doug McNeil, Rev. Ken Weir, Rev. Gerry White, Rev. David Martin, Rev. Peter Osborne, Rev. Donald Breen, Rev. Mike LeBlanc, Rev. Kevin Barry, Rev. Paul Doucette, Rev. William Brennan, Rev. Shawn Daley, Rev. David Fulton, Rev. Jim McQuade, Rev. Peter Melanson, Rev. Stanislas Paulin, Rev. Donald Savoie, Rev. Raymund Stack, Rev. Peter Stephen, Rev. Dan Bastarache. Ministry of music was provided by Richard Kidd, Musical Selection ”I Can See Clearly Now” by Folk Group under the direction of Anne Griffin". Readings were proclaimed by Barbara Johnston and Anne Marie McGrath; Prayers of the Faithful were offered by Sister Margaret Rose Nickerson. Homily was offered by Rev. Michael LeBlanc. Active pallbearers were Pat Coyne, Allan MacDougall, Pat Bourque, Scott Gregor, Brian Burley and Glenn Griffin.
Floral tributes were received from family and friends as well as The Board of Directors and Staff of The New Freeman, Bishop Harris, Clergy & Staff of the Diocese of Saint John, and St. John the Baptist Parish.
Memorial donations were given to Kidney Foundation of Canada – Atlantic Branch, Cathedral Restoration and Waterloo Village Revitalization Projects, Cathedral of Immaculate Conception – Mass, Bobby’s Hospice, ALS Society of New Brunswick – Societe de la SAL Nouveau Brunswick, L’Arche Saint John (New Dawn Community), St. Pius X Church – Mass, St. John the Baptist Church – Mass and Romero House (NB).
Interment to take place at the Milltown R.C. Cemetery in the spring. A time of remembrances followed at Fitzpatricks Funeral Home.
