The death occurred peacefully, with family at his side, at Whisperwood Villa, on Thursday, December 24, 2015, of Roland Doucette, beloved husband of Leone (nee Gass), of Parkdale, aged 86.
Roland was the father of Louise Peters (Louis), Linda Laybolt and Ruth Cairns; grandfather of Cory Cudmore (Allison); Jason McNally (Karen) and Trent McNally; and Shawn Cairns (Tara) and Ryan Cairns; and great-grandfather of Chase Cudmore, Jessica Cairns, Giannina Broglio and Karley McNally.
He is also survived by his nieces, Marlene Dennis and Tracey Gass; and nephew, Donnie Gass; and many friends.
Roland was predeceased by his parents, Paul and Mary (Matheson) Doucette; his great-grandson, Benjamin Cudmore, in infancy; and his brothers-in-law, Sanford and Roland Gass.
Resting at Central Queen’s Funeral Home, 2538 Glasgow Road, New Glasgow, for visitation on Monday, December 28, 2015 from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m.
The funeral will be held at Park Royal United Church, Charlottetown, on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at 10:30 a.m.
Interment in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
