MELANSON, EUDORE
1923 - 2015
Notre-Dame, NB – Eudore Melanson, 92, passed away peacefully at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre in Moncton, surrounded by his loving family, on Friday, December 25th, 2015. Born in Cocagne, NB, he was the son of the late Arthur and the late Joséphine Melanson (nee Léger).
Eudore owned and operated Eudore A. Melanson & Fils Ltd in Cocagne for over 60 years. Even after his retirement he could still be seen at the store socializing with his clients and his friends. He enjoyed traveling and playing cards. He was a hard worker and a very generous man. He enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. Eudore was the last member of his immediate family.
Eudore will be missed by his loving wife Thérèse Melanson (Goguen) of Notre Dame; by his four children, Gilberte (Mac) of Wyndell, BC, Valmond (Lorette) of Cocagne, Denise (Armand) of Ste-Anne-de-Kent, Victor (Linda) of Cocagne; by his nine grandchildren, Angèle, Julie, Carole, Lisa, Maryse, Christine, Jason, Selena, Jean-Rémi; by his nine great-grandchildren; also by several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his two sisters, Géraldine Melanson, Dorca Melanson and by his brother, Alcide.
Visitations will be at the St-Pierre-de-Cocagne Slumber Room in Cocagne, Tuesday, December 29th, 2015 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and from 7:00pm to 9:00pm and Wednesday, December 30th, 2015 from 1:00pm to 2:00pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated from St-Pierre-de-Cocagne Roman Catholic Church, Cocagne on Wednesday, December 30th, 2015 at 2:00pm. Burial in the parish cemetery at a later date.
Donations to Canadian Cancer Society or to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
