Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Centre on Wednesday, December 30, 2015, at the age of 74. Predeceased by her infant son Allister Donald Porter; her parents Leo (1991) and Catherine (1998) Sears; and her brother Allister Sears (2008). Leaving to mourn her husband Don Porter; her brothers: Leo (Beatrice), Donald (Sheila), Bennett (Brenda), Melvin (Jane), Virden (Janet), and Malcolm (Frances), all of Paradise; brother-in-law Sam Porter; niece Elizabeth Slade (Boyd); special friends Maureen (Crosby deceased) Clarke, Ed and Jocelyn Walsh, Jerry and Carmel Power, and Eric and Edith Taylor; all her cabin friends at 5th Ave - Colliers Big Pond, as well as many other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Thank you to the doctors and nurses on 4SA of Health Sciences Centre and Dr. Karl Misik for your care of Marie. Thank you to her special sister-in-law Frances Sears for her care and help with Marie in many ways. Resting at Barrett's Funeral Home, 73 Commonwealth Avenue, Mount Pearl, on Thursday, December 31st, from 3-9 pm; Saturday, January 2nd, from 10 am - 9 pm; and on Sunday, January 3rd, from 12-2 pm with funeral service to follow from Barrett's Chapel at 2 pm.
