Shirley E. Doucet, 85, of Moncton passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Wednesday, December 30, 2015. Born in Moncton, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd and Grace (Milliken) Gardiner.
Shirley retired from the Moncton Hospital as an administrative secretary with 24 years’ service. She enjoyed gardening, cross-word puzzles and watching television, especially crime dramas. In her younger years, Shirley was an exceptional dart player.
Shirley will be sadly missed by her daughter, Debra Harmer (David), of Moncton; son, Brian Doucet (Norah) of Sackville, NB; grandchildren, Judson, Dr. Katherine and Margaret (Adam Dixon); great grandchildren, Jackson and Nolan; special cousin, John Gardiner (Donna) of Edmonton, AB; several extended family members.
In addition to her parents, Shirley was predeceased by her husband, Bernard “Bernie” Doucet (June 1999).
In honoring Shirley’s wishes, no visitation hours or funeral service. Interment to be held at Fair Haven Memorial Gardens. Arrangements entrusted to Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995).
In Shirley’s memory, donations to the Moncton SPCA, Salvation Army General Funds or Friends of the Moncton Hospital.
