Christopher Hugh Bagnell

It is with heavy hearts that we the family announce the passing of Christopher Hugh Bagnell, age 20, on Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2016 after a courageous battle with mental illness.
He is survived by his beloved parents, Brenda Lee MacDonald and Hugh Bagnell, dear sister, Stephanie Bagnell, precious grandmother, Anne MacDonald, loving aunt, Carol Anne Chapman and cousin (like a sister) Victoria Chapman. He is also survived by his uncles Graham and Michael Bagnell, and Aunt Cathy MacPherson, many cousins, and special friends Sylvia, Ray and Mike.
He was predeceased by grandparents, Angus MacDonald, Graham and Vaughn Bagnell, and aunt, Bonnie Gillis.
Chris was a graduate of Horton High 2013, and was actively involved in the schools’ music program, various sports, and piano lessons from a young age.
Chris loved and found happiness in movies and music. He will always be remembered as an energetic and lovable boy whose presence filled your heart with joy.
Visitation will be held Friday, Jan. 8, 2016 at the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will take place 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 9, 2016 in the funeral home chapel with Fr. Bill Burke officiating. Interment to take place a later date.
Donations can be made out to the Cape Breton Mental Health Foundation and #BellLetsTalk Day on Jan. 27, 2016.
