It is with great sadness that the family of the late Sidney George Manning announce his passing on Sunday, January 10, 2016 at the Corner Brook Long Term Care Facility in his 93rd year. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife of 62 years Thelma; children: Dale (Brian) Walsh, Karen (Roger) Beck, Betty (Tony) Harnum, Keith (Effie) Manning, Lisa (Rod) Neal and Tracy (Peter) Dunford; 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Betty Simmons; brother-in-law James (Maureen) Callahan; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Eliza Manning, brothers and sisters. Dad was a well known contractor for many years. He will be remembered for his keen sense of humour. Special thank you to the staff of 4 North, Corner Brook Long Term Care for taking such good care of our dad. Friends may visit Fillatre's Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark's Avenue on Monday from the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 12 at 2:00 p.m. from the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, Main Street with the Very Rev. Baxter Park officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy flowers graciously accepted or donations may be made to Corner Brook Long Term Care.
