Slipped away peacefully at St. Luke's Homes on Saturday, January 16th, 2016, Francis Neil Dingwell of St. John's, retired Air Canada employee. Leaving to mourn with sad hearts and treasured memories, his wife Lillian (nee Stacey); son Ron (Doreen Hutchings), Halifax, NS; daughter Janet Furey (George); son Brian (Peggy Winsor), St. John's; six wonderful grandchildren: George and Gregory Furey, Christopher and Rebecca Dingwell, and Sarah and Stacey Dingwell; brother George Dingwell and sister Elsa Carpenter, Corner Brook; as well as a large circle of extended family and friends. Special thanks to Dr. Noel Browne, family member and friend for his many years of exceptional care. As well as long time friends, Sam Walters and Reg Caughie who were always there for him. Many thanks to the wonderful staff of St. Luke's Homes who took such good care of him. Cremation has taken place. The family will be receiving family and friends at Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, on Thursday, January 21st, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service to take place on Friday, January 22nd, 2016 at 11 a.m. from the Carnell Memorial Chapel with a reception to follow. Service and inurnment to take place at the Columbarium, Forest Road immediately following. No flowers by request. Donations in his memory may be made to St. Luke's Homes.
