It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our cherished sister and aunt, Mabel Marshall, at QEII Halifax, on Saturday, Jan. 17, 2016 at the age of 91.
She was born in Glace Bay to her parents, the late Paul and Alice LeBlanc.
She is survived by her three sisters, Vangie Woodburn, Sydney, Ann Ault, Edmonton and Josephine LeBlanc (Hornbuckle), Halifax; brothers, Edgar LeBlanc, Halifax and Cecil LeBlanc, Glace Bay and her many nieces and nephews, including Donna Marshall, Halifax; Valerie Hanson, Halifax and Sharon Gallant, Ontario.
Besides her parents, Mabel was predeceased by her loving husband, Murray 'Earl' Marshall; three brothers, four sisters, two nephews, and one niece.
Mabel was greatly admired for her sunny ways and sweet disposition. She led a quiet life, enjoying animals, music, reading and being surrounded by family. It was Mabel’s remarkable optimism, strength of spirit and perpetual faith that made it possible for her to stay at home until the last days of her life. Her positive outlook was, and will always be, an inspiration. She was kind, loving, and generous, and will be greatly missed. Her passing has left a void in our hearts.
A funeral mass will be held at Saint Benedict Parish at a later date.
