At the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, with family by his side, the passing of Percy Melvin Richards, age 97, of Murray Harbour, devoted husband of the late Jemima (Cook) Richards, occurred on Tuesday, January 19, 2016.
Born in Murray Harbour on April 2, 1918 he was the son of the late Henry and Estelle (Moore) Richards. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Percy will be missed by his loving children Sandra (Arnett) Reynolds, Murray Harbour; Jamie (Cheryl) Richards, Murray Harbour; Sally (Eldon) King, Lower Montague; Glen (Delite) Richards, High Bank. Loving grandfather of Heather (Aaron) MacKenzie, Jeff (Cherie) Reynolds, Kevin Reynolds, Mark (Connie) Richards, Dawne (Matthew) Jack, Lindsay (Bryan) Dickie, Derek (Sherry) King, Hilary (Peter) Brydon, Brad (Rechelle) Richards, Paige (Tim MacDougall); along with 24 precious great-grandchildren.
Besides his wife, he was predeceased by grandson, Jamie Reynolds, and great-grandson, Mark Richards; sisters and brothers, Vivian, Cecelia, Ethel, Greta, Olive, Edith, Clarence and Melvin.
Resting at Ferguson Logan Montague Funeral Home with visiting on Friday, January 22, 2016 from 6 to 9 p.m. Funeral service to be held on Saturday, January 23 at 2 p.m. from the funeral home chapel. Interment to take place in the Murray Harbour Cemetery.
