CURRIE, KENNETH EDWARDS
The death of Kenneth Currie occurred on January 21st, 2016 at the Oromocto Public Hospital. Born June 12, 1932 in Tilley, NB, he was the son of the late Kenneth Sr. and Hilda Currie and husband to Carolyn Currie.
Kenneth is survived by his wife, Carolyn; his children, Greg Currie (Peggy), Kirk Currie (Penny), Mark Currie (Cindy Gardiner), Kevin Currie (Elaine), Marlene Currie Delong (Ed), Cheryl Damm, Dawn Violo, Lisa Wood (Jeffery), Keila Currie (Thomas Veno), and Kimberley Purchase (Rodney); 25 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, Hilda Hamilton (Thomas), Bernice Tompkins (the late Royce Tompkins), Ruth Shorey (Jean Guy Levesque); brothers, Stephen Currie (Patty Taylor) and David Currie (Gail Currie) as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his parents; his brother, Milton Currie and his grandson, Michael Currie.
Kenneth was a heavy equipment operator and mechanic for 30 years until retirement. After retirement, he was also involved in the Mobile and Mini Home Industry as well as in the construction of mobile and mini home parks for another 25 years. He was an avid collector of antique tractors and equipment and he was always on the look out for more.
A very special thank you to Dr. Reid, the nurses and palliative care team at the Oromocto Public Hospital.
Visitation will be held at the Oromocto Funeral Home on Saturday, January 23rd, 2016 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Bible based talk will be given by Johann Grimm on Sunday, January 24th, 2016 at 1:00 pm in the funeral home chapel.
