William Edgett MacFarlane
1924 -2016
In his 91st year, it is with great sadness that the family of William Edgett MacFarlane of Riverview, announce his passing on January 20, 2016. Born in Moncton, in 1924, he was the son of the late William and Margaret (Forsythe) MacFarlane.
Bill was a WWII veteran and served with 8th Field Artillery and continued to attend Remembrance Day Services and was a member of the Riverview War Vets. He was employed by CN for 38 years. Bill enjoyed travelling, fishing, hunting, playing cards with friends and spending time with family.
Survived and sadly missed by his wife of 32 years, Audrey MacFarlane; sisters Sandra and Doreen; sons Wayne (Nancy) and Buster (Elana) MacFarlane; daughters Peggy Kearns, Tanya Steeves; step-children Wayne Power (Karen) and Karen Szewerda (Karl); Betty Donaher, Karen Hare, Jeffrey Power, Dan Power (Pamela); as well as several nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Pauline (LeBlanc) and a sister, Jean.
The family will be receiving relatives and friends at Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Rd. Riverview (869-2007) on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 from 1:00 to 2:30pm. The Riverview Veterans & Armed Forces Assoc. will have a memorial service at 2:15pm with the funeral service following at 2:30pm with Pastor Dan Steeves officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations made to the CHUDumont Foundation or a memorial of the donor’s choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
