Passed peacefully away in the presence of her family on Saturday, January 23rd, 2016, after a long courageous battle with breast cancer and dementia, Emma Brown from Cavendish, NL, aged 74 years. Predeceased by her husband Walter Brown, parents Elias and Elsie Jackson, sister Susan McConnell, brother Don Jackson, father-in-law William Brown, mother-in-law Elsie Brown, sisters-in-law Ruth Tilley, Lorraine Mercer, and Muriel Jackson, brothers-in-law Rick McConnell, Paul Brown, William Brown, Hubert Stokes, Max Mercer, and Ray Tilley. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories to celebrate her life with thanksgiving are her three children Dennis (Carolyn) Brown, Cathy (Don) Warren, and Kim (Lorne) Jackson, grandchildren Wayne (Candice) Brown, Justin (Meaghan) Brown, Jason (Jennifer) Brown, Steven (Kyla) Warren, Jessica (John) Legge, Alicia (Jonathon) Reid, and Deanne Jackson (Jason), great-grandchildren Emma and Lucy Brown, Joshua and Lilly Legge, Sadie, Annie, and Jase Warren, and William Brown, sister Wavey (Randy) Critch, brothers Chester (Yvonne) Jackson, and Gordon (Florence) Jackson, sisters-in-law Olive Stokes, Elaine (Fred) Porter, Margaret Brown, and Mary Brown, brother in-law Dennis (Ruth) Brown, as well as a number of other relatives and friends. We would like to extend special thanks to the staff of the St. John's Long Term Care Facility, Lion's Manor Nursing Home, Placentia, Shag Rock Manor, Whiteway, and All Care Home Support Ltd. for providing exceptional and compassionate care for mom over the past three years. Cremation has taken place. Resting at Warren's Funeral Home, Dildo with visitation on Tuesday January 26th 10 am - 12 pm, 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held from the St. Andrews United Church, Whiteway on Wednesday ,January 27th at 2 pm. Interment to follow at the Cavendish United Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, donations in her memory may be made to a charity of one's choice.
