Arsenault, Rheal J.
Surrounded by his family, Rheal Joseph Arsenault passed away on Monday, January 25, 2016 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. He was born on March 29, 1941 in Saint John, NB. Rheal was the husband of Kay (McEachern) Arsenault and a son of the late Edgar and Alexina (Guimond) Arsenault.
Rheal worked in the Architectural Business working for several firms in the city, such as Mott, Myles and Chalwin, Steen Knor, Tom Johnson.
He was a regular at the Blood Donor Clinic giving his 250th donation in May 2015. He enjoyed watching sports and liked to ski, skate, ride his motorcycle, he enjoyed playing cards and listening to his grandson, Bradley, play the piano. He would regularly go to McDonald's to meet with friends for coffee and tried to solve the world's problems, tell his jokes and one liners.
Rheal was active at St. Mark's Church, giving his services as Eucharistic Ministry, teaching religious education and worked with the Men of St. Mark's. He had a passion for genealogy to both the Arsenault and the Guimond families. He would travel anywhere to spend time with his family. Through Chalice he sponsored children from impoverished countries.
Besides his wife of 51 years, he is survived by his son Steve (Anthony), daughter Lana Arsenault, grandsons, Bradley Hachey, and Gregory Hachey, brothers, Joe, and Roger, sisters, Hilda Arsenault, Doris (Dave) Buardsen, Rose (Mark) Barry, aunts, Laurette, and Annie Guimond, (Elvina), and Marcelle Arsenault, brother in law, Bill (Moyra) McEascern, sisters in laws, Dianne Arsenault and Dorothy McEachern as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his brothers, Joseph Belfour, Raymond Arsenault, sisters-in-laws, Susan Ferris Arsenault, and Diana Arsenault, brother in law, Jack McEachern.
Resting at Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis, NB (849-2119) with visiting on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 from 2:00 to 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, January 28, 2016 at 10:00 AM at the St. Mark's Catholic Church. Interment to take place at St. Joseph's Cemetery.
