It is with heavy hearts that we the family announce the peaceful passing of Frances (Snow) Quinn, 89, on Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2016 at The Cove Guest Home, Sydney, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Newfoundland, Frances was the daughter of the late Bernard and Sarah (Norcott) Snow.
Family was everything to Frances. She was a member of St. Alphonsus and Holy Redeemer Church. Frances was talented in making crafts, playing darts and listening to music. She loved her seasonal getaways at the Ben Eoin beach. Frances will be remembered by family and friends for her sharp wit and being very generous.
Frances is survived by her children, Bernie (Philomena), Gregory (Paulette Tilly), Raylene, Shelley (Ed) Jerosky, Darrell (Tammy) and Colleen Gagnon; grandchildren, Amanda, Jillian, Mark, Shauna, Brody, Madison and Quinn; great-grandchildren, Damon, Michela, Aurora and Raymond; brother, Leo Snow; sister, Marie Peters; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Frances was predeceased by her husband, Raymond Quinn, brother, Billy Snow and a brother at infancy.
Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, Jan. 30, 2016 at 10 a.m. in Holy Redeemer Church, Whitney Pier, with Fr. Paul Murphy officiating. Interment will take place at St. Alphonsus Cemetery, Victoria Mines, at a later date.
Donations in memory of Frances may be made to The Cove Guest Home or to a charity of one’s choice.
The family would like to thank the Cape Breton County Homemakers and staff at The Cove Guest Home for their continuous care for mom during her time of need.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care and direction of Pier Community Funeral Home.
