Carol Outhouse

OUTHOUSE, CAROL ANN
(1959 - 2016)
Mrs. Carol Ann Outhouse of North Head Grand Manan Island, NB passed away on January 26, 2016 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. She was born in North Head, the daughter of the late Wilfred (Woody) and Barbara (Banks) Fletcher.
She grew up on White Head Island and following her Senior High Graduation Carol Ann became an LPN. Working in health care for 40 years, she cared and helped many patients along the way. She was the president of C.U.P.E. Local 2068.
She was to retire in June from the Grand Manan Nursing Home, where she worked for over half of her career. Some of her passions in life were travel; a good shopping trip, enjoying watching birds feed from the bird feeder, making friends from all over the world online as she played Candy Crush Saga, and Song Pop. Her make-up and pearls were always a must before she left the house. She looked forward to deer hunting season every year, and her competitive spirit always kept her as the best "gun" in the family, even giving her hunting partners an advantage as she wore "lightly scented lotion" and enjoyed a smoke along the trail. Carol Ann was not afraid to speak her mind when necessary and was not afraid to have fun and her quick wit could always draw a laugh. What she will be remembered most of all is the love of her family, especially her grandchildren and will be missed dearly by all who knew her.
Carol Ann is survived by her husband of thirty eight years; Anthony Outhouse, one daughter Michelle Outhouse (Chris Simms); her son Michael (Janica) Outhouse, both of Grand Manan Island, four grandchildren Cassidy and Maria Simms; Carter and Jordyn Outhouse, two sisters; Elizabeth Fletcher of White Head, and Colleen Perrin (Murray) of SK, one brother Theodore Fletcher (Sandra) of White Head Island, many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
There will be a time of fellowship and reflection of Carol Ann’s life on Saturday, January 30th, 2016 from 6 to 8 pm at St. Paul’s Anglican Church Hall. Interment will follow later in the spring at Maple Grove Cemetery.
Donations in Carol Ann’s memory can be made to The Grand Manan Nursing Home Foundation, or the Grand Manan Hospital Foundation.
