Eileen’s interests were many and varied! She was a member of the Zonta Club, IODE and the Red Hatters Society. She was a prolific painter and rug hooker. She produced many ceramic pieces in her shop where she taught classes as well. She wrote an abundance of poems over the years preparing one for each gathering and celebration she attended. She loved travelling, with her trips, to China, Australia, New Zealand, and the southern islands being the most notable. However, she always cherished coming home to Prince Edward Island. Eileen loved spending her summers at the cottage in Bideford and could often be found swimming across to Lennox Island. Never afraid to try something new, Eileen took up the Violin and Belly Dancing at the age of 80. Her zest for life was infectious and will truly be missed! Special thanks to her caregivers over the past few years; Dr. Peter MacKean, the Home Care Team, the Team from Home Instead and last but certainly not least the dedicated and compassionate nurses of Prince County Hospital. Resting at the Moase Funeral Home, Summerside. A private family graveside service will take place at a later date. Visiting hours Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. Memorial donations to the Prince County Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.
