POIRIER, GERARD
(1934-2016)
ST-LOUIS-DE-KENT, NB - Gerard Poirier 81, of St-Louis-de-Kent passed away on Sunday, January 31, 2016. Born in St-Louis-de-Kent, he was the son of the late Louis and late Jeannita (Goguen) Poirier.
Gerard worked construction most of his life and retired from la Polyvalente Mgr MFR where he worked as a maintenance technician for many years.
Known for his backyard gardening skills and his washer games, Gerard will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Jeannine (Henrie) Poirier of St. Louis; his daughters, Joanne Poirier (Kerry Sutherland) of Moncton, Louise Poirier (Joe LeBlanc) of Shediac; his son, Raymond Poirier (Huguette) of Saint John and special nephew Gary Larocque (Micheline) of St. Louis; his grandchildren, Mathieu (Mélanie), Mélanie, Kara, Sara, Myriam and great-grandchildren Mason and Megan. Gerard is also survived by five sisters, Rose Robichaud (Paul), Yvette Robichaud (Albe) both of Moncton, Lilliane Blanchard (Yvon) of St. Antoine, Denise Vautour (Bernard), Marion Blanchard (Josephat) both of St. Charles; brothers, Bernard Poirier (Brenda) of Shediac, Donald Poirier (Rose-May) of St. Louis and sister-in-law, Petra-Ann Poirier of Hamilton and Flavie Poirier of Saint Louis.
Gerard was predeceased by brothers, Sammy and Elmo Poirier.
Visitation will be held at Thompson Memorial Home, Saint-Louis-de-Kent on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, February 4, 2016 at 11:30 am, St. Louis des Français Roman Catholic Church, Saint-Louis-de-Kent. Arrangements are in care of Thompson’s Funeral Home, Richibucto (523-4252).
