It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Eileen Patricia Paris age 76 on Monday, February 1, 2016 at the QEII Health Science Centre, Infirmary Site, Halifax, NS.
Born in Springhill, NS on January 26, 1940, Eileen was a daughter of the late George F. and Lillian E. (Clark) Powell.
Eileen will be remembered for her strong willed personality that was especially evident during her last few days.
She was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Br# 10, Amherst as well as the R.C.A.F. club in Amherst.
Eileen leaves behind to mourn her children, Lucy Ann (John), Louise (Bruce), Lynn (Carvel), Jack, Bobby, Heidi, and Laura Lee (Keith); step-children, Todd and Julie (Jim); many grandchildren; great grandchildren; great great grandchildren; sister, Doris (Raymond) Lees; special friend, Bertha Richard; as well as many nieces, nephews and a large extended family.
In addition to her parents, Eileen was predeceased by her husband Donald in 2011; son, Wilbert in infancy; brothers, George and Walter.
Cremation has taken place.
A celebration of Life and sharing of memories will be held on Sunday, February 7, 2016 between 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. at Campbell’s Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst (902-667-9906).
Eileen’s remains will be laid to rest beside her husband, Don at a later date in the Amherst Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Eileen’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Nova Scotia Diabetic Association.
