It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Sandra Jean Jeffers (Cox) after a long courageous battle with cancer, occurred on Monday, February 8, 2016 at the Kennebec Manor, surrounded by her family. Sandra was a loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. Sandra was born on December 10, 1951; she was the daughter of Jean Cox-Green and the late Reginald Cox.
Besides her mother Sandra is survived by her daughters Karen (Jason) D’Entremont, Amy (Cory) Fuller, Andrea (Chris) Gallant and son Billy (Jennifer) Jeffers; step-daughters Amy Jeffers and Paula Jeffers (Brad); sisters Carol (Phil) Hunter, Christine Flecknell, Edie (Norm) Guitard and Judy (Eric) Cannon; half-brother Reginald (Maureen) Cox; grandchildren Matthew and Curtis D’Entremont, Brandyn Fuller, Hailey and Wyatt Jeffers, Sarah Jeffers and Zoey Hughes; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
She is now reunited with her father Reginald Cox; step-father Eric Green, brother-in-law Joseph Flecknell and nephew Christopher Flecknell.
Sandra’s family would like to express their utmost gratitude to the staff of Kennebec Manor for their care and compassion that they showed to Sandra from the moment she walked in the door. She was treated with grace and dignity and the staff was not only a tremendous support system for Sandra herself, but that also spilled over to her family as well in the last hours in her journey to God. The family wants the staff to know that this made it much easier based on your level of integrity in caring for our mother.
Following cremation, visitations will be held from Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) on Thursday, February 11 from 2 to 8 p.m. A memorial service will be held from Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, February 12 at 11 a.m. followed by a reception at the funeral home.
Remembrances in memory of Sandra may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society; Kennebec Manor Nursing Home or to the charity of the donor’s choice. www.fundyfuneralhome.com
