BURRELL, Josephine Harriet “Kay” - Age 88, of Falmouth, formerly of Windsor, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, January 24, 2016 in Windsor Elms Village, Falmouth. Born in East Walton, she was a daughter of the late Merton and Mary Jane (Fletcher) McLellan. Kay was a well-respected and well-liked person. She enjoyed cooking and was an avid walker, bingo player and supporter of the Windsor Fire Department. Kay loved musical events at the Windsor Elms, especially country music. She was very devoted and loving to her family; her children and grandchildren meant everything to her. Kay was a genuinely good person and will be missed by everyone who knew her. She is survived by her sons, Harry, Windsor; Gary (Sandra), Bramber; Brian (Angie), Falmouth; former son-in-law, Raymond (Sharon), Falmouth; former daughter-in-law, Cheryl (Rick), Martock; step daughter, Bernice Levy, Chester; sister, Shirley (Conrad), Woodville; and brother, Morris (Audrey), Ontario; eight grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren. Besides her parents, Kay was predeceased by her husband, Henry R. Burrell; daughter, Shirley; and brothers, Albert, Laurie, Richard, Allen and Merton. Arrangements were entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., PO Box 981, Windsor, NS B0N 2T0 (902-798-8317). A funeral service celebrating Kay’s life was held 1 p.m. Wednesday, January 27 in DeMont Family Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Rob Heffernan officiated. A reception followed in the funeral home’s Elmcroft Reception Centre. Interment was held in Maplewood Cemetery, Windsor. Donations in memory of Kay may be made to Windsor Elms Village, Windsor Fire Department or charity of one’s choice.
