It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our wife, mother, grandmother and sister, Catherine Jean Organ, age 82, on Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2016, at home surrounded by her family.
Catherine was born on June 9, 1933 in Toronto, Ont. the was a daughter of the late James and Catherine (Brown) Morrison.
She was an Avon sales representative for over 40 years and in 2002 received the Presidents Club Award. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Anglican Church, North Sydney. At one time she enjoyed the ladies club playing cards and going to bingo games and was a former member of the North Sydney Senior Citizens & Pensioners Club.
Catherine is survived by her husband Philip Organ; her three sons, William James Organ and Mark Troy (Marie) Organ, both of North Sydney, Philip Thomas (Lynn) Organ, Vancouver Island; her daughter Catherine (Lorne) Bond, North Sydney; her eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; her sister Margaret Rose (Jack) Organ, Maple, Ont.
Besides her parents, Catherine was predeceased by her son Eric Davies Organ and a brother Norman Morrison.
A sincere thank you to the VON, the Northside Homemakers and Palliative Care of Cape Breton for the care and compassion shown to Catherine throughout her illness.
Visitation for Catherine will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney. Funeral service to be held at 3 p.m. Monday at St. John the Baptist Anglican Church with Rev. Julio Martin officiating. Burial will take place at Lakeside Cemetery, North Sydney at a later date.
Memorial donations may be made to Hospice Palliative Care of Cape Breton.
