Jones, Geneva Joyce
It is with great sadness that the family of Geneva Joyce Jones announce her passing at the Oromocto Public Hospital on Thursday, February 18, 2016. She was born on July 31, 1938 in Priceville, New Brunswick, and was the wife of the late William H. Jones.
Geneva could often be found sitting in her rocking chair with her faithful dog, Buddy, by her side, as she sipped on tea and knitting garments to keep her beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren warm. When warmer days arrived, Geneva would head to her camper on the Miramichi River, where she enjoyed a game of 45’s with her family and friends.
She will be forever missed by her children, Richard, William “Herby” (Margaret), Carolyn Dean (Mark), Francine Harnish (David) and Beth Hewitt (Danny); grandchildren, Leigh, Peter, Stephen, Patricia, Ronalee, Jennifer, Alyson and Robyn; great-grandchildren, Logan, Rylan, Bradley, William, Payton, Kaycee, and Lily; and her special aunt and uncle, Gert and Bun Price.
Respecting Geneva’s wishes, there will be no visitation. A memorial mass will be celebrated at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church on Tuesday, February 23rd, 2016, at 11:00 am with Fr. Ken Weir as celebrant. Interment will take place in the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Cemetery at a later date.
