DIXON, JESSIE IMOGENE
1918-2016
Jessie Dixon, 97, of Forest Dale Home, Riverside-Albert formerly of New Horton passed away peacefully on Sunday at the nursing home. Jessie was born in Cape Enrage on April 12, 1918 the daughter of the late Robert and Violet (Dixon) Barbour.
Jessie worked at the Fundy View Motel as a cleaning lady and cook. She loved taking care of others and making delicious meals for everyone. She was a faithful member of the New Horton Baptist Church. She was a lifetime member of the WMS and also the Friendship Senior Citizens of Riverside-Albert. When she had to leave New Horton she resided in the Senior's Complex on Mill Street for several years, where she loved to entertain her family and friends. Jessie was very independent and lived on her own up until the past few months of her life. She will be remembered for her kind and caring ways. She never had any children of her own but her nieces and nephews were very special to her. Jessie was very appreciative for all their help and assistance over the years. We know she is now at peace with her Lord and hearing the words "Well done my good and faithful servant."
She will be deeply missed by her sister, Greta Beck of Riverside-Albert; brother, Weldon Barbour of Petitcodiac; sister-in-law, Solie Barbour of Riverside-Albert; several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by her beloved husband, Linford Dixon; brother, Cecil Barbour.
She will be resting at the Albert County Funeral Home with visitation on Tuesday afternoon from 2 to 4 pm. The Funeral service will be at the Albert County Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 24th, 2016 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Peter Atkinson officiating. Interment will be in the Waterside Cemetery, Waterside, NB at a later date.
