Passed on: February 20th, 2016
The family of Carol Noel Colello regret to announce the passing of our beloved daughter, sister and aunt on Feb. 20, 2016.
Born in Sydney on Dec. 22, 1955, she was the daughter of Lillian and the late Nicholas Colello of Westmount. She was also a longtime resident of Whitney Pier.
Carol was the kindest, most thoughtful and selfless person you could ever meet. Her love for her family and friends was only rivalled by her love of sports. She never missed a Cape Breton Oilers game and loved to cheer on the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles, Toronto Blue Jays and Montreal Canadiens. She was an accomplished bowler and competed regularly in Special Olympics.
Carol is survived by her mother, Lillian; sisters, Gina and Kim (Michael) MacGarvie, Westmount; brother, Nick, Westmount; nephew T.J. (Natalie), Sydney; niece, Jessica, Westmount; and grand-nephews, Gabriel and Nolan. She also had a special place in her heart for her uncle, Henry (Rick) Guerra, Laval, Que., and his family, as well as the staff members of the former Italian Village Pizzeria.
Carol was predeceased by her father, Nick, who is now by her side forever.
There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. Funeral service will be held Thursday, Feb. 25, 2016 at 11 a.m., St. Alban's Anglican Church, Victoria Road, Whitney Pier.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Cape Breton Special Olympics.
