Janina (Babi) Zielinski

Peacefully at home with family on Friday, February 19, 2016, in her 93rd year.
Wife of the late Dr. Lech Zielinski. Dear mother of Les J. Zielinski (Peggy) of Stanhope, Prince Edward Island and Anna Ogilvie of London, Ontario. Loving grandmother of Evva Fenison of San Diego, California, Laura Zielinski (Derek Pollock) of Peterborough, Ontario, Krysia Ketelaars (Christopher) of Toronto, Ontario, Joasia Bell (Johnathan) of Charlottetown, PEI, and Zosia Zielinski of Ottawa, Ontario. Great-grandmother of Elanor Pollock and Xavier Ketelaars. Predeceased by her daughter Yolanda Forsythe and son-in-law Robert Ogilvie.
Born 1923, Krakow, Poland, deported to Russian labour camp during World War II. Traveled to Beirut, Lebanon to finish studies. Met and wed Dr. L.K. Zielinski in 1946. First born Jolanda, 1946 in Egypt, son Les born in England 1950, daughter Anna born in Prince Edward Island in 1954.
Zielinski’s made their home in Kensington, PEI and became valuable members of the community. Janina started a Tourist Resort business, “The White Eagle” in 1962, Cavendish, PEI, which was very successful for over 30 years. She lost her husband in 1985 due to a car accident and moved to London, Ontario (winters) to be closer to her daughter.
Throughout her life Janina was an inspiration to many showing determination and strength and love of her family.
Funeral mass will be held at St. George Roman Catholic Church, London, Ontario on Friday, February 26, 2016 at 2 p.m. Visitation one hour before at the church.
