1925 - 2016
Vincent Mills, 90, formerly of Irishtown, passed away on Wednesday February 24, 2016 at the Veterans Health Centre in Moncton. Born on November 6, 1925 in Bouctouche, he was the son of the late François and Marie-Jane (Manuel) Mills.
Vincent was a veteran of the Second World War and served overseas. He worked as a car man for the CN until his retirement in 1984.
He is survived by five children: Normand (Gisèle), Ronald (late Virginia), Raymond (Donna), Joanne (Jimmy) and Linda (David); two sisters: Ida Duplessis and Anita LeBlanc; one brother, Raymond; 13 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife, Florence (2001); three children: Yvonne, Donald and infant Joanne; one sister, Annie; two brothers: Johnny and Joseph.
The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude towards the staff of the Veterans Health Centre for their excellent care provided to Vincent.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) from where the funeral service will be celebrated on Monday, February 29 at 10:30 am. Visiting hours are Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Veterans will hold a service of remembrance at 3:45 pm Sunday at the funeral centre. A reception will follow at the centre. Interment will be in St. Lawrence O’Toole parish cemetery.
In memory of Vincent, a contribution to the CHU Dumont Foundation (Veterans Centre) would be appreciated.
