Garner, Hubert Charles Henry “Bud”
Hubert C. H. “Bud” Garner, 90, of Riverview, with his loving family at his side, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Friday, February 26, 2016. Born in London, England, he was the son of the late Henry and Alice (Rayner) Garner. Bud was a retired City of Moncton Police Officer, with 32 years’ service. He was a member of Gunningsville Baptist Church, former member of the Church Choir and Past Chairman of the Trustee Board and served his church in various capacities in past years. Bud was a former Serviceman with the Royal Navy, having served as a Chief Petty Officer Pilot in the Atlantic Region. In past years, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, 4-wheeling, reading and spending precious time with his family.
Bud will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 72 years, Edith (Budd) Garner; daughters, Gloria Scribner (late Frank) of Wheaton Settlement, Sandra Evans (late Roy) of Kingston, ON, Linda Belliveau (Jean-Paul) of Riverview, Frances Steeves (Gary) of Hillsborough; sons, Royston Garner (Marge) of Alberta, Derek Garner of Saint John; 26 grandchildren; greater than 100 great and great great grandchildren; sisters, Shirley Dwyer of England and Sheilla Sharpe of California; brothers, John, Fred and Leslie, all of England; numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Harry and Ron; sister, Joyce.
In keeping with Bud’s wishes, there will be no visitation hours. A Celebration of Life Service for Bud will be held at Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Monday, February 29, 2016 at 11:00 am with Rev. Blair Holden officiating. Reception in the Funeral Home Reception Centre following the service. Interment in Fair Haven Memorial Gardens.
