Mervin Gerald Braaten
June 26, 1930 – February 29, 2016
Mervin passed away peacefully February 29, 2016 at Stonebridge Crossing Retirement Community in Saskatoon. Merv is survived by his sons, Marty, Dwight (Diane), and Trent (Deanne); and daughters, Deb Cook (Terry Blom), Bev (Richard) Kim, Roxanne (Mike) Vandeven, and Christina (Ray) Getz; as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife of 62 years, Lorna Braaten (nee Mattice); son, Gary Braaten and daughter in law Judy Braaten. A special thanks to the staff at Stonebridge Crossing Retirement Community for their care. A Celebration of Life will be held for Mervin and Lorna on Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at 2:00 PM from the Birch Hills Lutheran Church (Birch Hills, SK). In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart & Stroke Foundation. Arrangements entrusted to Acadia-McKague's Funeral Centre (Saskatoon, SK).
