CLOWATER, ELVA MURIEL
It is with great sadness that the family of Elva Muriel (Price) Clowater announce her passing on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at her home in New Bandon, NB. Born on September 8, 1930 in Priceville, NB she was the daughter of the late Vivian and Hazel (O’Donnell) Price.
Elva previously taught school in Priceville but loved cooking and spent many years cooking at several well known fishing camps along the Miramichi such as Bailey’s Fishing Camps and Dean Barr. She enjoyed Bingo, playing cards, bridge club and visits from family.
Elva is survived by her husband of almost 65 years, Ivan Clowater; daughters, Penny McAleer (Johnny) of New Bandon, NB, Jane Calhoun (Jerry) of Quispamsis, NB; sons, Duane Clowater (Lorna) of Fredericton, NB, Rickey Clowater (Marie) of St. Stephen, NB; grandchildren, Rick, Andrew, Barry, Jamie, Jennifer, Jarrett, Joel, Jacob; great-grandchildren, Brady, Karlee, Alexa, Austin, River and Forrest; brother, Ashley Price (Iona) of New Bandon, NB; several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Elva was predeceased by siblings George, Allison, Clara, Betty, Edna, Norma, Audrey and Nancy; grandson, Adam Clowater; son-in-law, Jim McAleer.
Visitation will be held at Miramichi Valley Chapel, 7861 Route 8, New Bandon, NB on Friday, March 4, 2016 from 6 to 9 pm. A Memorial Service will be held from Miramichi Valley Chapel on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at 2 pm with Rev. Patti Armstrong officiating. Interment will be in the New Bandon United Cemetery at a later date.
Special thanks to Elva’s care workers and Dr. H. Chow for the wonderful care they gave Elva.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Arthritis Society or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
