BERTHE-FRASER, ERNESTINE (née GALLANT)
(1941-2016)
RICHIBOUCTOU-VILLAGE, NB – It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ernestine Berthe Fraser, 74, of Richibouctou-Village. Born in Richibouctou-Village, she was the daughter of the late Freddy and Eva (Marranda) Gallant.
Ernestine was employed by, and very proud of the work she did, as a counsellor at the Moncton Addiction Services detox centre. She was a member of the Club d’Âge d’Or, Richibouctou-Village.
Ernestine will be sadly missed by her daughter, Lise Melanson (Raymond) of Dieppe; her son, Michel Berthe (Linda) of Bouctouche; her grandson, Colin Berthe, who she loved very much; the father of her children, Gilles Berthe; her four sisters, her twin, Alphonsine Richard (Eric) of Gardner, MA, Hilda Brunet (Claude) of Alexandria, ON, Geneva Melanson of Leominster, MA and Albertine Quigley (Gordon) of Westminster, MA; her four brothers, Alphonse Gallant (Jean) of Ladysmith, BC, Zoel Gallant (Claire), Gerry Gallant (Linda) and Donald Gallant (Donna) all of Richibouctou-Village; her sister-in-law, Lorraine Gallant (Late Albert) of Leominster, MA; as well as her several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Ernestine was predeceased by her husband, Ken Fraser; her two brothers, Albert and Alfred (late Maureen); and her sister, Regina Boucher (late Henri).
Visitation will be held at the St.-Antoine-de-Padoue Roman Catholic Church slumber room on Thursday, March 17th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm, and Friday, March 18th from 9:00 am until time of the funeral. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, March 18th, 2016 at 11:00 am, St.-Antoine-de-Padoue Roman Catholic Church, Richibouctou-Village. Arrangements are in care of Thompson’s Funeral Home, Richibucto (523-4252).
