DALLIN, SHIRLEY JUNE
It is with deep sadness that the family of Shirley June Dallin, born February 12, 1928, announces her passing on Thursday, March 3, 2016 at The Moncton Hospital. Born in Dorchester Cape, New Brunswick, Shirley was the much loved daughter of the late Elmer and Grace Buck and adored wife of the late Norman Dallin.
A graduate of Mount Allison University, Shirley dedicated many years of her life to teaching. Although she held various teaching positions, the majority of her career was spent at Moncton High School until her retirement. Shirley was a long time member of First United Baptist Church where she served on several boards and committees and was a life member of the United Baptist Women’s Missionary Society.
She is survived by her brother, Bedford Buck (Ruth); sister, Grace Hankinson (Jim) of Toronto, ON; brothers-in-law, Allan Harris and John Dallin (Lynn); sister-in-law, Marilyn Dallin; stepson, Steve Dallin (Kerri); stepdaughter, Lyn Dallin and several step grandchildren and great grandchildren. Shirley will be fondly remembered by her cherished nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Shirley was predeceased by her brothers, Arthur (Ruth) and Bill (Jean); sister, Ferne; brother-in-law, Ralph Dallin and step grandchild, Tanner Dallin.
Visitation will take place at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. A funeral service will be held at Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, March 7, 2016 at 10:30 am, with Rev. Dr. J. Richard Jackson officiating. Refreshments will follow in the Funeral Home Reception Centre. Interment will be held at Fair Haven Memorial Gardens.
