BOURQUE, OSCAR
Oscar Bourque, 86, of the Villa Providence, formerly of Labatture Street, passed away on Thursday March 3rd, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. Born on July 22nd, 1929, he was the son of the late Ernest and Louise (Léger) Bourque.
From an early age, Oscar was an entrepreneur and would often invent an item to fit the needs of his family and friends. Very active member of his community, he was a former Town Councillor, volunteer fire fighter and past Fire Chief with the town of Shediac, past board member of the Club Boishebert, Caisse Populaire, founding member of the Lions club and Movement Scout all of Shediac.
He will be sadly missed by his wife of 65 years, Edith (Léger); his three daughters: Roberte Bourgeois (Bernard) of Dieppe, Doris Pellerin (Daniel) of St Thomas, Odette Léger (Richard) of Shediac; two brothers: Camille (Bella), Hervé (Dorine); two sisters: Andréa O’Brien (Late Alfred), Ernestine Targett (Arnold) all of Shediac; five grand-children: Mathieu, Natalie, Julie, Émilie, Stephanie, and two great-grandchildren: Kaleb and Sophie along with his third great grandchild to be born in April. He is also survived by three sisters-in-law: Élodie, Émerise and Marina.
He was predeceased by a sister: Thérèse; three brothers: Aimé, Louis, Bernard.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 396 Main Street, Shediac (532-3297) on Monday March 7th from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm, Tuesday from 9:30 till time of departure 10:15am. The funeral will be held at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 415 Main Street, Shediac on Tuesday March 8th at 10:30am.
In memory of Oscar, a contribution to Alzheimer Society of NB or the Vestiaire St. Joseph would be appreciated.
