Dale Hadland passed away unexpectedly in the Fort St John Hospital on February 26, 2016 at the age of 66 years. Dale is survived by his wife Darlene, son Tyler (grandchildren Austin and Anna Hadland), and daughter Kate (grandson Gabriel Kissock). Also by his brother Arthur and his wife Laurel, their children Amanda, Brendon, Trevor and Marina. As well, his parents Austin and Evelyn Hadland and the numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Dale’s life began on his family’s farm in the Baldonnel area. He spent his childhood working alongside his family, which inspired him to eventually follow in his family’s footsteps to establish his own farm.
Dale was married to Darlene Eklund on June 30, 1972, and they began their lives together on her family’s homestead. Dale pursued many different jobs through the years, but his heart was always with the farm. In future years they increased their land to make the family farm they and their family love and enjoy so very much.
Dale was a kind and gentle man with a soft heart, who loved his family dearly. His children and grand-children were a special light in his life. He always had a twinkle in his eye for them. Dale was happy to greet family and friends and was sincerely interested in their lives.
Dale taught us what true grit and determination really meant. He was very strong and those traits have taught us what we need to help us through the rest of our lives. He is our inspiration and our hero.
