JOLICURE, N.B.- It is with deep sadness that we must announce the passing of Harriett Estelle Oulton, age 66, on Tuesday, March 1, 2016. Harriett passed peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Moncton, N.B. on August 29, 1949 she was the daughter of the late Rita Marie (Connors) and Vincent James Hickey.
Harriett was a lifetime farmer but also enjoyed working at the Sackville Post Office for 20 years as well as at the Aulac Tourist Bureau. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing, skating with her grandchildren and was referred to as Grammy by many. Attending Exhibitions were her favorite past time and she never missed going to one with the children.
Harriett will be lovingly remembered by her husband, David; son, Keith; daughter, Cheryl Booth; two brothers, Mike (Helene) Hickey and Shawn (Johanne) Hickey; two sisters, Charlotte (James) MacDonald and Joanne (Steve) Korman; three granddaughters, Nicole, Allison and Beverly; sister-in-law, Ginny (Gary) Foley and by many nieces and nephews.
She was pre-deceased by her mother, Rita Hickey in 2004 and by her father, Vincent Hickey in 2013; her two brothers, Pat Hickey (Martha) in 1985 and James Hickey (Janet) in 2008 and by her sister-in-law, Shirley Streatch (Bob).
Arrangements have been entrusted to Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville, N.B. (364-8188). In keeping with Harriett’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visiting hours or funeral service.
If so desired, donations in memory of Harriett may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the charity of one’s choice.
