It is with great sadness that the family of the late Elizabeth "Ellie" Bachmann announce her passing on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook at the age of 86 years. She lived with vitality and passed quickly and gently. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her children: Ralph, St. John's, Regina (Gary) Dewling, Corner Brook, Tony, Corner Brook, Doris (Stewart) Bellows, Corner Brook, Carl, Brockville, Ont. and Monica (Ron) McCarthy, Corner Brook; grandchildren: Sean, Adam, Christopher (Tara), Sara, Spencer, Hillary, Joshua and Helena; great-grandchildren: Julia, MacKenzie and Alexis; sisters: Irene Weisert, Germany and Regina (Gerhard) Göring, Germany. As well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Heinrich "Henry" Bachmann, parents Ignatz and Agnes Laskowski, brother Ziegfried Laskowski. Elizabeth lived life to the fullest and loved her family. She enjoyed bowling, darts and volunteered many hours with the Ladies Hospital Auxiliary. Friends may visit Fillatre's Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark's Avenue on Monday 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 16 at 2:30 p.m. from Humber United Church, Clarence Street with Rev. Jocelyn Cook officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery.
